KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

II Corinthians 2:11   Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Ecclesiastes 1:9   The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

When we were in sin, satan knew and had an intimacy fellowship with us (I John 3:8).  He was not only our father, but he relished having an incestuous relationship with our minds.   As any ex-lover would, he knows what we like and dislike.  His goal was to keep us bound, to those things that keep us down.  Having said this—when the tempter of our souls brings his “Indecent Proposals” to us— he is usually not sending anything that is unfamiliar; rather, what he is proposing is quite often well known to us.  Then why do we fall for what we know was sent purposely to damage us?

Our sin nature must be reckon (considered) dead.  Romans 6:11.  Anything that is dead is no harm to us.  I once lived near a cemetery, and often joked about how quiet and peaceful my neighbors were.  Others were spooked or freaked out about me an my family living near a graveyard.  However, the dead cannot harm us.  Our sin nature is inside of us—but more importantly to the redeemed, Christ is in us!  And the Anointed One gives the people of God the right to have authority over our enemy and our inner me.  The new me in Christ can render the old me powerless; therefore, making him dead.  But, do I know my rights in Christ Jesus?  Know your rights.  You are not ignorant!  You know what satan has strategically been up to.  His methods may change, but his goal remains the same.  The enemy brings nothing new.  We all have the right to choose.  Are you looking at the cross?  Now, choose.
