Say What God Said - Speak Life

** Notes from today's sermon **

We lift our hands to God in worship...

THE PROMISE LAND

Thought: What's been on my mind

Challange : To set my course, climate and condition with Gods Word.

Genesis 22

Luke 6:45

Think before you speak

When Jesus spoke he was always speaking in obedience to the father. He spoke in truth and right standing.
Do I really want the truth?
When we speak are we saying what God says?

When we pray are we prioritizing our needs before our wants?

Vengeance belongs to the Lord.

Trust in the Lord with all they might, we can not trust in ourselves because our minds are finite!

We believe God for something we can't see. I the world that's crazy. The Bible says blessed is he who does not see yet belives.

Abraham beleived God, when God spoke he moved.

Start to do what God tells you.

Many of us should have died a longtime ago, but God saw it fit for us to live on. He continues to deliver us from the enemy.

WE ARE COVERED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

At the name of Jesus all knees shall bow, every tung will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Notes from last weeks sermon

Bro. Charles

Judges 6 : 1-16

Judges 7 : 1-9

Subject : The Promsed Land

Thought : I was called by God according to his purpose.

Challenge : Return to my first love and give God my best.

Types of soilders

The fearful soilder (uninspired, uncommitted)
Slacker (this soilder does just enough to pass [maxing the minimum])
The faithful, the fearless and highly motivated.
In the military everyone is assigned specific positions. However in the heat of battle if the machine gunner is down someone else has to pick it up! No time to worry about whose job it is.

We are all in the army of the Lord. Are we making sure the ball doesn’t get dropped? We are in a spiritual and natural war.

Why type of soilder are you?

Soilders are paired up for battle. They are responsible to take care of their fellow man. They can’t slack otherwise it might cost someone’s life.

Are we taking care of our calling? Are we representing God ? Do we slack in our Christian walk?

Obedience: Soilders respect chain of command.

Cohesiveness : Soilders operate together. Battles are won together.

DON’T EVER GIVE UP

Gal 6:8- For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

The pressures of life can wear us down.  Mental exhaustion will be the result.  Deadlines, demands, and the disruptions to our peace and joy are ever present.  But we must always beware of allowing our problems to cause us to sow to our flesh.  Our thoughts, actions, and words are easily the products of what is going on in our lives that is affecting our hearts.  Thoughts are seeds, and wrong thoughts will sow inedible seeds.  If I intentionally sow apple seeds, an apple tree will grow and bring forth fruit.  If I purposely sow poison ivy, it will not bring forth anything for me to live off.

We must think the best in the worst of times.  Thank God he didn’t leave us to do this on our own.  Rather, He gave us His Word, and commands that we have faith in what He said: “…Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22).  The things of God are not natural to us.  His things are against everything our flesh holds dear.  Fear, doubt, and giving up on our brothers and sisters are the exclusive rights of the flesh; but to love and believe God is obeying God’s Word in faith.  Get the point!  So while well doing can seem tiresome, burdensome, and just downright unacceptable, the benefits will exceed our expectations.  A promise is given to those who do not give up.  We sow in one season, to reap in another.  Keep sowing to your spirit.  God cannot lie (Titus 1:2).  Don’t give up, and you will reap the benefits of faithful obedience.

No Excuse People of God

by Brother Mark Johnson

Rom. 8:1- There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

People of God, how can we expect our spouses to be submitted to us, our children to obey us, or our co-workers to respect us, when we are not submitted unto the Lord and are disobedient to his word!  Truly, we earnestly desire the benefits of being children of the Most High God, but we despise the responsibility and the labor required.  First, our responsibility begins with our personal relationship with Lord.  We can accomplish this by loving the Lord with all of our being and putting Him first in everything that we do.  Ask the Lord, “What would you have me to do?”  Then patiently wait for the answer, and respond in obedience.  Second, faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22).  Therefore, you must be faithful in your home before God can take you to the next level in Him.  Are you up for the challenge?  I hope the answer is yes, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are not destined to fail, but rather to succeed abundantly in whatever purpose God has implanted in your heart.

Jesus is coming again.  The Lord will not accept excuses then, neither is He accepting them now!  We have the written Word of God, the patriarchs, the prophets, the apostles, and most importantly, the witness of God’s glory in the person of the Holy Spirit inside of us.  God himself dwells in us. Selah (meditate on this).  We have what is needed, so let’s stop using excuses.

BETRAYAL

by Pastor Troy V. Ingram

Matt. 26:23- And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

To be betrayed is one of the most horrible things to experience as a human being.  Yet someone in our family, or one of our friends, could do it at anytime.  We cannot be betrayed by a stranger, for there is no connection of the heart with them.  What is most hurtful about betrayal is that it happens unexpectedly and usually by someone you would not suspect. Someone you loved, respected, and trusted.  Betrayal has been equated with being stabbed in the back.  Many never get over the breach of trust.  I know of a few who have suffered nervous breakdowns.  Some have been so seriously damaged that it altered their character in some way.  Praise God we can overcome betrayal with love. Charity (love) never fails (I Cor. 13:8a).  Jesus could not save Judas, the son of perdition (John 17:12), but He still loved him!

Things that hurt us initially could make us stronger when the pain subsides.  If we stay angry, remain unforgiving, live in bitterness or resentment at the ones who have betrayed us, then we are not walking in the Spirit.  The Holy Spirit releases power to us to do those things which are beyond our ability to do.  He will teach us how to love those who have offended us.  However, His help depends upon our obedience to the Word of God to forgive.  If we don’t forgive, neither will God forgive us (Mark 11:26).  No matter how terrible the atrocity committed against you or I, we cannot allow it to dictate and control our thoughts—talk—and walk in the Spirit (Gal. 5:16).  Also, do not even think of revenge; it belongs to God (Rom. 12:9).  Your flesh will not feel enjoy walking in God’s Will, but in the long run you will be filled with joy that you did.

LEAVING THE FAMILIARS

Gen. 12:1-Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

Like Abraham, most us of would prefer to be where we are comfortable.  According to our logic and rationale, it is just an unfair thing to ask us to remove from our comfort zone.  Our comfort zone is where we feel safe and secure.  We may not release our gifts, talents, creativity abilities, or get the land that God has for us, but that’s okay, as long as we are comfortable!

Being where we are comfortable enables us to say this, “I know where I am, but I will not know where I am going if I leave.”  That’s my point!  How will we ever know what God has for us, if we do not free ourselves from our comfort zone?  At this point it doesn’t even bring comfort; but has subtly become a trap for the purpose of keeping us from our destiny.  Whenever we are so attached to anything more than God, so much so that we cannot leave it though he has commanded us to, we have place ourselves in a precarious position and have no one to blame but ourselves.  Obedience and opportunity are not strange bed fellows.  They have been happily united for millennia.  There will be no opportunities if we cannot be obedient.  What is familiar to me may not be where God has ordained that I should be!  “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts…” (Heb. 3:7-8).  Is the Holy Spirit telling you to move?  Think about all the Jews who descended from Abraham, then ask, “Do I really want to miss a great move of God”?
